In Our Heads About Our Hair - A documentary, This Friday at Urbanworld Film Festival

A documentary that examines with candor and humor Black women's issues regarding hair and self-esteem, and advocates for the acceptance of all hairstyle choices.

In Our Heads About Our Hair, was directed by Hemamset Angaza, and co-produced by Anu Prestonia, Paulette Maat Kesa Tabb and Maitefa Angaza. The film explores Black women's hair from every angle, with theories and testimony shared by women and men of all ages and walks of life. There are both funny and poignant moments, and the film ultimately advocates for the understanding of all hairstyle choices. Adding to the conversation are Melba Tolliver, Farah Jasmine Griffin, Marc Lamont Hill, Abiola Abrams, Majora Carter, Asha Bandele, Nancy Giles and many others.
In Our Heads About Our Hair, is screening at the 34th St. AMC/Loews Theater on 8th Avenue this Friday, September 21st, at 5:30 pm! Swing by the movies after work or school for an entertaining and thought-provoking film!
