Closing Down Democracy: The Fascist Blueprint
The cultural recurrence here and now in America calls back to 1930's Nazi language, imagery, sound bytes, and modes of thought. There is a blueprint for closing down an open society. Anti intellectualism is only one of the tactics. There are ten steps to launching a fascist state. Given what is happening in Iran right now, Wolf's analysis might allow us to predict some of the things the Iranian government will do next to suppress the demonstrations, dissent, and rebellion in the streets. The question is: why aren't Americans doing the same thing in OUR streets??
