 -- Supports Nomination of U.S. Attorney Loretta Lynch as Attorney General --

Washington, DC (BlackNews.com) – Today, Glenda Newell-Harris, M.D., national president of The Links, Incorporated issued a statement applauding the decision of the Senate Judiciary Committee to favorably send forward to the full Senate its recommendation of U.S. Attorney Loretta Lynch for U.S. attorney general.

"We thank the members of the Judiciary Committee for their thorough review and consideration of U.S. Attorney Lynch’s extraordinary credentials and relevant experience that has resulted in this decision," stated Newell-Harris. "We now urge the members of the U.S. Senate to follow the committee’s lead and move swiftly toward confirmation of attorney general nominee Loretta Lynch as the next attorney general of the United States."

Newell-Harris further stated, "The Links, Incorporated’s membership appreciates and supports the extraordinary work of public servants such as attorney general nominee Loretta Lynch and count many within our ranks. We recognize the great contribution public servants make to improve the society in which we live. We know if confirmed by the Senate, attorney general nominee Lynch will be one who will uphold the U.S. Constitution and serve the nation well. She has dedicated her distinguished career to service and the advancement of justice and equality. She will do no less as attorney general of the United States."
