The 15th Annual Central Brooklyn (nyc) Jazz Festival 2014

cbjc-logo-3.gifBrooklyn, New York City is home of music greats: Lena Horne, Max Roach, Betty Carter, Hubie Blake, Bob Cunningham, Art Blakey, Freddie Hubbard, Randy Weston, and others.  The 15th Annual Central Brooklyn Jazz Festival, March 28 thru April 30, 2014 has grown from a nine day neighborhood event to a highly anticipated month long borough-wide music series. The backbone of this community based jazz festival are the musicians and venues that keep Brooklyn's jazz scene vibrate and fuel its nightlife economy.

Great jazz is not the only reason to be in Brooklyn during Jazz Appreciation Month.  Be prepared to experience more than just this celebration of a true American art form created by people of African descent.

Experience an independent arts, entertainment environment from Manhattan. Attractions of Brooklyn include: Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Plaza, gate way to African American culture; Botanical Gardens; Brooklyn Children's Museum, world’s first and newest museum created for children; Brooklyn Museum of Art, a worldwide premier institution of art; Coney Island Aquarium, and Prospect Park Zoo.  Tour eighteen (18) culturally distinct neighborhoods and a walk across the world famous Brooklyn Bridge with postcard views of 'The City'.  Home to 93 ethnic groups, 136 different languages are spoken here.  Sample various cuisines in the borough’s ethnic enclaves: African American soul food, Caribbean, East Indian, French, Halal, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Kosher, South and West African, Thai, Brighton Beach's Little Odessa (Ukrainian/Russian), Brooklyn's Chinatown and others.  Brooklyn, with over 2.5 million residents, would be the fourth most populous city in the USA if separated from the rest of NYC.  Brooklyn provides world class hotels, bed-n-breakfast accommodations at a fraction of the cost of those in midtown New York.
