by AbdudDharr Abdullah ~ In the aftermath of the 'Civil Rights Movement', that began in the mid 1950's, evolved the 'Revolutionary Liberation Movement' of the 1960's & 70's. Starting with 'S.N.C.C.' - the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee - and 'R.A.M.' - the 'Revolutionary Action Movement' - the Revolutionary Movement of the 60's spawned the birth of the Black Panther Party, the American Indian Movement, the Brown Berets, the Republic of New Afrikan, the S.D.S., the Weathermen and the Young Lords. The 15th of this month marks the date Bobby Seale and Huey P. Newton wrote the first draft of the Black Panther Party for Self Defense (BPP) 10 - Point Program. That program became representative of the aspirations of all the revolutionary groups of that era who were fully committed to eradicating the rampant injustices inherent in the 'bogus' American capitalist system as they were dedicated to ushering in a social order of genuine peace and prosperity for all children, women and men transcending all class, cultural, ethnic and racial distinctions. They were driven by a set of standards and values rooted in genuine brotherhood and sisterhood. Likewise, they were motivated by a desire for an equitable and fair economic, political and social system; not, at all, unlike the one envisioned by those who are part of today's 'Occupy Wall Street' movement. For no reason other than the fact that their activities, associations and political views were not conducive to the scheme of, nor looked upon favorably by, those at the helm of the U.S. government they were targeted to be neutralized and/or terminated. Hence, a counterintelligence program dubbed COINTELPRO was conducted wherein hundreds of them were killed and hundreds remain imprisoned as a direct consequence of the FBI violating many of the very laws it is mandated to enforce and uphold. Scores of people were victimized by official agencies of the U.S. government with the exact same indifference we witness the human rights of the American common People being disregarded, trampled upon and violated today by similar 'special interest groups' made up of politicians and public officials at every level of government in collusion with the bankers and corporate magnates of Wall Street. Just as today's bankers and corporate/political elite are turning a blind eye and deaf ear to the grievances of the American public, the majority of the American 'body politic' did the same thing to American residents of Afrikan descent and the descendants of those Native Peoples indigenous to this land throughout the past up to the current day. It is time to, finally, correct those wrongs by including in the platform of the 'Occupy Wall Street' movement the demand for the 'unconditional release' of all COINTELPRO era Political Prisoners and P.O.W.'s. In addition, it is important that the '1st Nation Peoples' and People of Afrikan descent categorize and list those issues and matters that comprise their major concerns so that they can be infused into the narrative of the 'Occupy Wall Street' mass movement. It is imperative that it be done, now, while it is still in it's formative stage. Next year, soon after the presidential election or midway into the next presidential term; the 1% could give all of the disgruntled 'middle class' Americans their jobs back or give them new ones, reinstate their credit status and sell them new homes or allow them to repurchase their old ones. While '1st Nation Peoples' and People of Afrikan descent are left where we've been all along, 'locked-out' and/or 'locked-down'. All that the average protester wants is her or his fulfillment of the 'American Dream'. However, our fight, - the fight of '1st Nation Peoples' and People of Afrikan descent, - must be for our dignity, humanity and survival. The 'American Dream' for most of us has been nothing but an illusion. Our collective reality has, indeed, been more of a 'nightmare'. Although the average 'middle-class' American is starting to face, and feel, the sorts of harsh realities that have been a part of our People's everyday 'American experience' from the time the first european settlers set foot on these shores, it still is not exact same. Our unique case, circumstances and conditions must be interjected into the overall narrative and platform of the national mass movement in such a way that clearly accentuates our current reality, form a historical context, and lays out a list of demands that, if met, will guarantee our progress as collective, nations of Afrikan and '1st Nation' descended Peoples and safeguard the survival of our posterity for generations to come. To do, or settle for, anything less will only facilitate the 'oppressor class' in their obvious plan of genocide that is being carried-out against us and for all practical purposes it seems is, now, beginning to include people from a much wider cross-section of the American populous. An overwhelming majority of the People of America pray, on a daily basis, for ... 'The Will of God to be done on earth as it is in heaven'. Well, it's high time for them to consciously and deliberately do everything within their capability to herald in an economic, political and social order based on the premise of 'The Rule of Law of The Will of God' so that every child is provided a 'genuine', quality education and every man, woman and child can enjoy the benefits of the earth's resources, through the advancements in science and technology, on par with every other person alive: where no one is given preference due to class,  financial, occupational or racial distinctions. If this land called the United States of America is to ever transform into a true republic of "liberty and Justice for all"; wherein dignity, honor, Justice and liberty are enjoyed by all people regardless of creed, ethnicity or race; it must be understood that such a change will only occur in direct correlation to, and in proportion with, the upliftment of the children of those indigenous Peoples from whom this land was stolen and the descendants of their Afrikan counterparts whose parents were taken captive from the shores of the land of their birth and forced into exile by slavers. This earth is 'The Gift of The Creator' to the entire 100% of the world population! It is time the 99%, that has become the subject of so much attention, 'RECLAIM THE WORLD! The Will of God must be done! With The Help of The Creator, let's be about the business of making it happen!
