So there are different intensities of the trance .As a drummaker Hugan Hunto ( drum spirit ) I can"t go into unconscious possession , but I must use the path to fetch the spirit to the horses and protect them so they can come back to balance , and I can"t tire ..So as an adept you are constantly working on you quest to serve as an intercessor for the spirit .
