Making War Obsolete

Eureka! I have found it! I have found a way to make war obsolete. Dust off the Nobel Peace Prize. After over fifty years of futile anti-war activism, there is hope and optimism. The Goodwill Revolution is even better than I thought, because that is where the solution lies.

“The love of money is the root of all evil”. Through this love of and  addiction to money, a small rich ruling elite of money- pushers and money-lords have captured our democracy and manipulated our value system. So, even though man is basically good and has made amazing technological advances, we continue to be mired in wars, poverty, crime and all sorts of social instability. I described this Goodwill Revolution against the love, addiction, worship and corrupting influence of money in two books, “Boycott Money and Save Your Soul – Launching the Goodwill Revolution” and “Leave the Rat Race to the Rats”. This up-with-people-down-with-money revolution  shows you how,  by treating ‘goodwill towards all’ with all the energy, enthusiasm, skills and resources as  we have treated money, we will fix the social disintegration and find real happiness. It is a systematic comprehensive realistic plan to devalue money, revalue people, strengthen relationships and achieve the positive political and social change that our traditional unimaginative methods have failed to do.

Considerable evidence is provided to prove that man is inherently good and the Goodwill Revolution seeks to reinforce this. On the other hand, our current money, materialism, power worshipping system undermines this inherent goodness.

Rat Race Culture

Our current culture, which I refer to as “The Rat Race” pits people against each other in a competition to get as much money, materials, and power as they can.  Greed, selfishness, ruthlessness and avarice are assets in the rat race. But. kindness, sincerity, compassion are liabilities. The rat race culture  has corrupted our values and our institutions. Violence and inequality are wreaking havoc. The winners of the rat race are highly respected. Losers are  despised.  If there are 10 participants in any race, there is only one winner, but nine losers.  Similarly, the rat race creates lots of losers. This is unacceptable.  In this type of culture, war receives a level of tolerance an acceptance than it should. This corrosive rat race culture has got to go.

The Goodwill Revolution

But, the rat race is not compulsory. We do have a choice. The Goodwill Revolution is that alternative. This goodwill-to-all revolution encompasses a comprehensive set of principles which reinforces and mobilizes the inherent goodness of mankind as the key to true happiness. In the goodwill revolution, kindness, compassion, and  honesty are valuable assets.  Greed, selfishness, ruthlessness are liabilities. War is not acceptable, but is despised and the Goodwill Revolution provides an acceptable alternative.

Principles of The Goodwill-to-all Revolution, Goodwillism

  • Reject money, materialism, power
  • Goodwill to all regardless of race, religion, national origin, socioeconomic status, etcetera with  no exceptions, not even enemies
  • Do good deeds
  • No Retaliation - reconciliation instead of retaliation
  • Unlock the good in all and mobilize it to improve our community
  • Working together for the benefit of all
  • Reinforce good deeds - Triple A them (A-ware, A-cknowledge, A_ppreciate). Don’t take good deeds for granted. Encourage them by being aware of them, acknowledging them and show appreciation of them. Always call attention to them.

We will use all the skills, ingenuity, resources, and determination that we have been using to amass wealth in order to:

  1. Improve our relationships with family, friends and all people in general.
  2. Reach out to be a friend to all but especially those who differ from us by race, religion, nationality, ethnicity, politics, and so on.
  3. Make a special effort to get to know people better
  4. Try to find the good in all
  5. Overcome the fear of  rejection in reaching out to befriend all
  6. Embrace goodwill to all including those who do not like us.
  7. Oppose belligerence and hostility with goodwill.
  8. Try to make sure that all interactions with people are positive and uplifting regardless of how obnoxious and belligerent the other person is.
  9. Shun retaliation and instead try  to convert an enemy into a friend. Seek reconciliation instead of retaliation.
  10. Constantly seek opportunities to do good deeds
  11. Acknowledge and appreciate the good deeds of others.
  12. Oppose bad and evil deeds but in such a way that goodwill is maintained with the perpetrator
  1. Be extra nice to everyone every time regardless
  2. Hero-worship the super-good instead of the super-rich

Enemy and retaliation

Seek reconciliation not retaliation

It happens all the time . An enemy has done you a great wrong. He might have insulted your mother. He might have ridiculed you. He might have told an evil lie about you. What do you do? Generally if someone does something mean to you then you want to retaliate by doing something even meaner to them. Retaliation means escalation. It’s payback time. Even if a friend does something bad to you, you want to pay the friend back. But, let’s take the worse-case scenario. An enemy does something mean to you. Shouldn’t we aim for the best possible outcome of that situation?  The popular and acceptable response is to retaliate so severely that the enemy will not do it again.

But that is not the best possible outcome. The best possible outcome is that your enemy becomes your friend. And if that is the best outcome, should we not do what it takes to achieve it? Goodwillies always go for the best possible outcome first.

On the international scene, America has enemies or at least leaders we do not like for some reason or another. North Korea, Iran and Venezuela are examples. Right now we are almost at war with North Korea. Even nuclear war is a possibility! Unbelievable! We have surrounded North Korea on land and sea with the deadliest most sophisticated weapons of war. Tens of millions of lives of North and South Koreans, and others, friend and foes, hang in the balance.

This madness is not the answer. Just as on the personal level, on the international country-to-country level, the best possible outcome is to make an enemy a friend. We need to seek to improve relations with these ‘enemies’. We need to minimize our differences. The better our relationship, the better chance we have of minimizing differences. Our foreign policy should be, “To improve relationships with all governments and to work with these governments to improve the quality of life for all their citizens.”

Unless we work with the governments we might cause suspicion about our motives. We need to make it clear that although we have issues, we want to seek and maintain goodwill to all countries. Of course, this is not easy. It is complex but  we will use all the skills, ingenuity, resources, and determination that we have been using to wage war to achieve this lofty goal.

We have those skills too, but let us not use blood-thirsty warmongering generals to negotiate peace. And, here is a novel idea, let’s use peacemakers to make peace.

Understandably, trust is a problem. We are the only superpower. We have invaded, destabilized,  and intimidated numerous countries. We have overthrown governments. We prohibit countries from obtaining nuclear weapons while we have allocated a trillion dollars to upgrade ours We have over 700 military bases in over 130 countries  worldwide.  This is all the more reason why we have to take the initiative to reach out to improve relations even if our military-industrial complex objects.

But, making friends of these enemies sounds like a tall order, but it is achievable. Instead of sending bombs and troops, with the country’s permission and pledge of protection, let’s send American tourists, musical superstars in concerts there, soccer teams, basketball teams, Dennis Rodman and other goodwill ambassadors.

We dropped two nuclear bombs on Japan, but Japan is now one our closest ally. On Viet Nam, we dropped more bombs than we did in all of World War II, poisoned their lands with Agent Orange, turned their rice fields and forests into minefields, burnt their villages, and killed an estimated 2 million Vietnamese civilians, 1.1 million North Vietnamese troops, 200,000 South Vietnamese troops, and 58,000 U.S. troops. Those wounded in combat numbered tens of thousands more.  Many years later President Clinton sought to improve relations there by re-establishing diplomatic relations. People don’t realize it, but this was one of the best things President Clinton did.   Many American tourists have gone there since, including me.  After all we have done to them, I was shocked on my visit there to learn that they like Americans. Even our American fast food franchises are scattered over that communist country. Goodwill survived and triumphed over that horrible war.

One million people dead , 4.5 million homeless, in the Iraq war. The most developed country in Africa, Libya, has been bombed back into the Stone Age. Latest reports have it that even slavery has returned there. How many more shall die? Warmongering is not the answer. Give the Goodwill Revolution solution a try.

Many years ago the mother of the Rothschild brothers said, "If my sons didn't want war, there would be none." You see they earn a lot of money on war, and they kill off a lot of people as this article confirms. So I exposed them.

Now, I have a link which I will share with you early as it is one of several links where corrections are needed which have not been done yet. This link needs no corrections, however, so I post it here for you so you will know who our enemies are. Some of the names you will recognize instantly at

http://www.truedemocracy.net/hj36/02.html

The USA had a president who wanted peace; they killed him and blamed it on Lee Harvey Oswald. That's why I normally sign

Peace,
