Taj Smith to host a FREE 1-Day Football Skills Clinic on July 16, 2011 at

Weequahic High School’s Untermann Field in Newark, NJ

 

Newark, NJ—June 21, 2011— Indianapolis Colts Wide Receiver Taj Smith will be hosting a

free football skills clinic for Newark football players in the 5th—12th Grades on July 16, 2011.

Registration runs from 9:00am—10:00am. The clinic will run from 10:00am to 3:00pm.

Participants will receive practice tips from professional NFL athletes as well as run 1-on-1 NFL-style drills and other workouts. Newark residents are invited to watch on the sidelines.

 

Mr. Smith will be joined by Baltimore Ravens Jameel McClain, San Diego Chargers Curtis

Brinkley, Oakland Raiders Joe Porter, Indianapolis Colts Chris Brooks, Indianapolis Colts

Pierre Garcon, along with Coaches from the surrounding Newark High Schools to facilitate the

practice drills. The players will also receive an educational session where current and retired

NFL athletes and finance professionals will speak on the importance of a quality education

and studying hard, making and saving money, and planning a career outside of football.

 

I am really excited on having this camp for the kids in my community, this will be the first of

many to come, and I want these kids to see if they “Never Give Up” they can accomplish

anything they want” stated Smith.

 

The first 150 registered participants will receive a T.S.E. Never Give Up Football Skills

Clinic T-Shirt. Clinic participants will also be treated to boxed lunches courtesy of Applebee's

of Union, NJ. Water and Ice will be provided by Shoprite and Stop & Shop Supermarkets.
