Those who want to stop the war in Afghanistan – not to mention, Yemen, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, and... and..., are people who want to score a home run and not run the bases. They are are willing to shore up the dam with their fingers in the crack. They are walking about unseeing the elephant in the room and they are definitely afraid to tell the Emperor that he has no clothes. PUT YOUR BANDAID ON AFGHANISTAN BUT THERE IS SORE FESTERING UPSTREAM. Is there any hope for peace anywhere on earth without peace between Israel and the Palestine? It is my opinion that most reasonable people will say that peace between Israel and Palestine is key to world peace and security. Why am I and you and I and we as a nation and the world not organized as if this is a priority? As if world peace and security and the future of our species depend on there being peace between Israel and Palestine? Which is this greater threat to our peace and security? Cuba or Israel/Palestine? Is Iran a greater threat to to world peace or Israel/Palestine? Some will debate this. In my opinion, they are we who have are unseeing the elephant in the room and snicker at the Emperor's new clothes to assuage some primal guilt. Go too far and we'll fall off the edge of the earth! Countless frogs, generations and generations of frogs, have been born into this tepid water ; it is half past dinner dinner - to save our children and our children's children. I am grand father. I have not known peaceful Middle East. Will by great grand children? May be normal is not normal. Imagine a world without an Israel/Palestine Conflict. Maybe there were no mirrors in Camp David. It is time to lock them up. Time to lock us up to confront the our selfishness and the shame of cost of this ageless childish conflict. Then, may be, robocop can withdraw to face his mirror. Imagine a world without an Israel/Palestine Conflict. Did someone say it is time KWASI AKYEAMPONG

The imperialist nation of the United States loves the conflict with Israel/Palestine. Americans always have to oppress others. Never mind that the US turned a blind eye to Hitler's extermination of the Jews and looked the other way re: WWII until Pearl Harbor was hit. Then...it was all about them. For a nation, which is also anti-Semitic, Americans sure let Jews own their ass because they hate people of colour worse.

To keep trouble in the Middle East is to keep the oil in America's control. Look how they fucked with the democratic election of Iran (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1953_Iranian_coup_d%27%C3%A9tat). Wikipedia is not my favourite source but am about to get ready to visit my husband at the hospital and had to post.

The United States of America *is* the problem when it comes to the rest of the world. "We" (meaning our government) cannot leave other people alone. They feel they must tell others how to live. Americans claim to want freedom for others but their sick actions show otherwise.

I am tired of how Americans are propagandized to believe that we are "cleaning up other people's messes". No, America is causing more problems with the messes THEY made in the first place.

    Brother Akyeampong,
Great insightful questions. Unfortunately when one understands the 50 year history of American Foreign Policy under the auspice of the United Nation's Security Council and the long imperial history of Europe in that part of the world, one can easily understand that there will never be any peace within the Palestinian land or within that part of Africa due to an interiorized commitment to perpetuate the neo-imperialist, entrenched zionist geopolitical agenda.
