Helping Young Fathers Succeed Early

Where do teen, young and "would be" fathers go for "help" as they embark on one of the most important responsibilities of their lives?  Parenting.

And, for those teen, young and "would be" fathers confronted with balancing school, emotions and finances, life can become a roller-coaster of uncertainty with a generational sentencing their children's children will spend decades unraveling.

What do you believe the future holds.  And, how should experienced fathers help?

3828565040?profile=originalWith 750,000 women under age twenty becoming pregnant in the U.S. each year, there is a tremendous need to increase resources for young fathers.

Because of the impact on education, the Million Father March is mobilizing all available and willing men to help prepare, assist and mentor teen, young and "would be" fathers for the future.  Especially, as related to encouraging the continuation of their education and not dropping out of school or their children's lives.

Mr. Marty Sellers, co-founder First Fathers, states "If we are going to make a difference, we have to invest in those who have the potential to effect change.  Young fathers have the potential to positively make an impact in the lives of their children by cultivating love, life and laughter."

As this school year ends, the Million Father March will spend the summer planning "Back-to-School" to help fathers make a difference in their children's education the first day of school for 2014/'15.  Also planned is continued support of Mr. Marcelino Serna, SBCUSD Family Resource Center, and its student fathers on-campus mentor program.

This year's Million Father March objective is to reach-out and support teen and young fathers to ensure that their mental, academic and economic well-being is intact for a productive and successful school year.
