"Books For Ghana Project Kick-Off"

On Thursday, October 31, 2013, the Universal African Peoples Organization (UAPO) will officially launch a campaign to gather and deliver at least 15,000 books to a library in Ghana, West Africa. This event/announcement will be held at the Tuscan Lodge, 5015 Westminister Place starting at 7:00pm (Directions are listed below).  This effort comes on the heels of a recent trip to Ghana by UAPO member/supporter Professor Reynaldo Anderson, Harris Stowe University who met with local Ghanaian officials who asked that he organize an effort to help them combat illiteracy by shipping books to their community.

Accordingly, the UAPO leadership accepted this challenge. Therefore, a goal of 15,000 books was agreed upon with the project being completed no later than the birthday of the Pan- Africanist visionary Malcolm X birthday, May 19, 2014. At the program, the sponsors of the transatlantic shipping company that will deliver the books will be announced, as well as the first major donor of 3,000 books.

In order for this project to be successful, we are in need of the following; books with Afrocentric themes, textbooks for all educational subjects from early childhood to college with special emphasis on Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Hygiene, Medical, Business, Geography, and Dictionaries.
Financial contributions are also welcomed. Checks are to be payable UAPO, POB 9226, St. Louis, MO 63130.
