AfroLife.TV Inks Content Deals, Selects a diverse content library starting with Twelve Disciples of Nelson Mandela

AfroLife.TV announced today that is has partnered with Chimpanzee Productions, Inc. to license their groundbreaking show, Twelve Disciples of Nelson Mandela, for AfroLife audiences.

In the wake of his stepfather's death, Thomas Allen Harris embarks on a journey of reconciliation with the man who raised him as a son but whom he could never call "father." As part of the first wave of black South African exiles, Harris's stepfather, B. Pule Leinaeng, and his eleven comrades left their home in Bloemfontein in 1960. They told the world about the brutality of the apartheid system and raised support for the fledgling African National Congress and its leader, Nelson Mandela. Drawing upon the memories of the surviving disciples and their families, along with the talent of young South African actors who portray their harrowing experiences, Twelve Disciples of Nelson Mandela tells an intimate story of family and home against the backdrop of a global movement for freedom.

"I am so extremely proud that our streaming service is taking the lead on showcasing content that speaks to our eclectic audience. Part of our corporate mission is to bridge and connect the African diaspora around content that is entertaining and relatable to us and the Twelve Disciples of Nelson Mandela creatively does just that," says Alberto Marzan, Founder and CEO of AfroLife.TV.

AfroLife is also in talks with Chimpanzee Productions, Inc. and Digital Diaspora Family, LLC to bring other creative content to the AfroLife audiences.

"Like so many consumers of color, we have been waiting for a premium quality channel that would focus on content that reflects the diversity of our experiences. Now, finally, AfroLife.TV is rising to the challenge. As content creators, we at Chimpanzee Productions are extremely happy to be able to partner with Alberto and his team to bring viewers the kind of stories they've been demanding," saysDon Perry, Chief Operating Officer of Chimpanzee Productions.

At launch, AfroLife.TV will have a blend of African American content as well as a diverse African Diaspora focus to bring our community together around content that we can relate to. You can find this and other programs in the weeks to come at www.afrolife.tv
