Has anyone paid attention to the expanding list of free tools, instructional material and services meant for collaborative enterprises, especially for mass communication media and alternative energy?

I don't know what anyone is focused on, but I'm looking at the gaps and holes in our communities, with a personal and rather passionate interest in mass media and energy.
