About Me:: How I missed this truly outstanding website I can't actually say. I've subscribed to the BlackList email discussions over the past 6(?) years, as a Reparations advocate, and as an advocate for Black African Heritage action and accountability. But it was only this weekend that I found this wonderfully rich site which includes so much content and vitality. It will be now be included on my Google homepage, along with Democracy Now, Mother Jones, DailyKos, CSPAN, BBC, NPR, and Places to See(!). More about me? I'm a Muslimah, mother of four, wife of a Gambian, and HAPPYHAPPYHAPPY that Americans voted in favor of sanity (Obama) over global melt-down (McCain). Allahu Akbar!
I'm also interested in creating a sustainable life around the globe. I co-authored a book on this topic (visit my website) in which I provided a model for the leadership chapter that comes out of the Black community, as well as the chapter on how sustainability improvements can be measured. Who invited you to TheBlackList?: I invited myself(!) by 'finding' the site thru Facebook (K. Akyeampong's page)

Why are you really interested in joining TheBlackList? (you must not repeat a previous answer): As I previously inferred, I joined the BlackList discussion several years ago. However, I'm joining the website in order to stay connected with the global Black community. I already associate with two Black African Heritage groups (International Black Summit and Int'l Black African Heritage Leadership Development (NCBI) Caucus). The BlackList website seems to offer a rich opportunity to participate in the discussion of Self-Actualization and Liberation of the African community on global scale.

What can you not be trusted to do?: I can't be trusted to participate in Black Self-Deception by insisting that Blackness is always Best - to take a shortcut to the matter. In other words, I can't be trusted to hold the position that whites and others are always wrong and always insufferable. God Gives answers to whom He Wills. Sometimes white folks have the answer. I can't at this moment think of an example - but I know this to be 'true.'

May Allah bless you as we pass through another year. We are so fortunate to have health, love and serenity. I can only think of others around the globe who are less fortunate.
