- I am an academic, teaching at the University of Iowa whose research focus is Islamophobia, Cultural Competent Social Work Practice and Field Education. I was raised in NYC, have an Africentric approach to living and include my Islamic practice in my daily life. I love life and live each day as if it were the last. Prayer, family, marriage, and health are among the many values that I subscribe.
I also have a 36 year old history as an instructor in the martial art of Aikido. I have dedicated my life to this art and spend much energy transmitting what I have learned to younger students enrolled in my school.

So good to know that Allah has favored you and I with longevity and a rebounding spirit to be there for the "next" generation of leaders, teachers and guides. I am so happy that we are connected. Good works and pleasant struggles have been my most recent happenings.
