On the occasion of Black History Month, we cordially invite you to the opening of ART OF AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMEN...18th to 21st Century at 10 AM

on Wednesday, February 25th for an exclusive one day only showing at the National Museum Gallery. (A panel discussion will follow @ 1030 AM)

This unique exhibit of images from the Catalogue of the Barnet Aden Collection provides a glimpse into the amazing artistic accomplishments and contributions of African descendants in America from the late 1800's to present time, with an emphasis on women. We hope this exhibit of profound and prolific images will help us expand the academic narrative of art history to include African Americans.

The US Embassy is delighted to co-sponsor ART OF AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMEN...18th - 21st Century which will travel to US Corners in Bahir Dar, Dire Dawa, Harar and Jimma.

I am personally honored to share these images from my treasured collection which have informed and inspired my work in the arts as an intuitive curator and I would be equally honored if you are able to attend.

One love,
