The Mavis & Ephraim Hawthorne Foundation was established in 2005 in memory of Ephraim and Mavis Hawthorne, the parents of the Hawthorne family. Together, Ephraim and Mavis owned and operated the Hawthorne & Sons Bakery in Jamaica, West Indies, which has since evolved into the Golden Krust Caribbean Bakery and Grill restaurant chain. The Hawthorne family was always taught the importance of education and hard work while growing up.

Today, this lesson can be found in this very foundation that aims to support the students of the many communities that Golden Krust continues to serve. The Mavis & Ephraim Hawthorne Foundation is committed to developing time and support to communities through scholarships along with social services and activities. The Mavis & Ephraim Hawthorne Foundation does not only support people in the United States, they also extend their services to those in the Caribbean.
