The Whirlwind, the newspaper of the Alkebu-Lan Revivalist Movement continues to take the nation by storm as the 6th edition hits the streets.
The latest issue is brimming with news and views from some of the world’s leading Pan-Afrikan thinkers and activists. In this vein we welcome a new regular column from the UNIA-ACL the organisation founded by the Most Eminent Prophet and King, His Excellency Marcus Mosiah Garvey in 1914 and still going strong today. Newly elected President General Baba Senghor Baye, previews his visit to the UK with an article on how "the Whirlwind of Garvey" is set to once again engulf the Afrikan world.
We are also delighted to announce a new regular column from the renowned Pan-Afrikan scholar and writer Baba Chinweizu who begins his account with a call for Afrika to institutionalise Garveyism rather than the current trend of Afrikan Union inspired continentalism. The Garveyite theme is continued with Alkebu-Lan Revivalist Movement’s Spiritual Leader Bro. Ldr. Mbandaka’s clarion call that "The Real Garveyites Please stand Up!"
Whirlwind 6 introduces yet another new columnist in the shape of wealth strategist Sis Sandra Hurst. Her regular slot is prefaced with the first instalment of a two part interview demystifying the so-called "credit crunch" and how it affects Afrikan people.
Zimbabwe is considered by many to be the most crucial Pan-Afrikan issue for a generation and Bro. Olatunji Heru’s cover story examines the intensive European campaign against not just the president but the country itself and how the media is used for this purpose. Getting behind the headlines in a Whirlwind exclusive, we expose how the media criminalises Afrikan youth by paying them to pose in front of cameras with knives.
Whirlwind 6 also has the usual favourites of pan-Afrikan news and views, Business Focus, sport, fashion, health, reviews and our children and youth features.
