On Friday, April 8th, the Newark AntiViolence Coalition, OpenLine of KISS-FM and the Mayor of Irvington, are hosting an important Town Hall Meeting on the plague of street violence.

The event will take place at Christian Pentecostal Church, located at Harrison Place and Clinton Avenue, Irvington at 6pm.

Mayor Wayne Smith and Attorney Malik Zulu Shabazz will be the special guests for the event.

The event will be moderated by James Mtume of the Open Line.

“In spite of the pathetic attempts by the Irvington police to demonize and criminalize nonviolent protest by patheticallyprosecuting the Irvington Six, the community and most sensible leadership, want to come together and address the violence in our streets,” said Zayid Muhammad, the national minister of culture for the New Black Panther Party and a survivor of gun violence in Irvington.
