Hosted by the REAL Learning Institute and Scent & More, The Monthly AFRICAN AMERICAN HUMANITIES FILM FEST will enrich the lives of the children and their families with accurate historic information not currently included in the standard educational curriculum.  TheAFRICAN AMERICAN HUMANITIES FILM FEST will touch the hearts and minds of the community for increased self-worth through intellectual engagement for a more holistic sense of self.

The AFRICAN AMERICAN HUMANITIES FILM FEST will help People of African Descent "guard against the danger of becoming ashamed of himself and his past", as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. admonished us.  Knowing these hidden truths of the past will aid everyone in non-prejudicially accepting the humanity of People of African Descent.  By engaging in monthly film viewings and intellectual discourse, People of African Descent, and all other open-minded viewers, will be able to gradually and methodically embrace their humanity and the communal respect it fosters.  The AFRICAN AMERICAN HUMANITIES FILM FEST is a collective endeavor between the REAL Learning Institute and Scent & More Cultural Variety Shop in the Jackson Medical Mall.

The Monthly AFRICAN AMERICAN HUMANITIES FILM FEST is FREE & OPEN and held in the First Floor Community Meeting Room of the Jackson Medical Mall, 350 West Woodrow Wilson Avenue - 6:30-8:00pm.
