These tiny gifts motivate me to strive, hope, continue expressing a singular true freedom.
The ability to say "I want", without fear of a lash of any sort that may do physical damage.

Someone once took some great time to explain to me that being able to articulate the desire for a thing that did not exist in the mind of whomever I communicated that desire to and have them understand, even visualize that desire as a manifest object in reality, was the first step in the process of inventing.

Too often, we fail to express that which we desire in a manner that will allow or encourage anyone, even ourselves to bring that object to fruition.

I remembered being bullied as a child, because I feared the punishment that would be issued by my mother if I was caught in a fight, effectively causing her to miss days of work. Not the fear of the bullies that beat me at their leisure, they never understood that I did not ever fear what they could do to me. Until, I was turned loose and instructed to stand my ground in defense of that which was important to me. For one young man at Nolan Junior High / Middle School, it was a life changing experience. By twelve years old, I'd already studied Korean Karate and been introduced to Kenpo, but found a comfortable place in a combat form of Tai Chi of all things. I still find myself following the quiet motions of soft circular movements with sudden bursts of snapping actions, without much thought about the processes. But one hot muggy autumn day I found a silence that haunts me to this day. The silence was the absence of thought. When you fight, you tend not to think, you react, respond or act out. I tell people today, "I don't fight, because I enjoy it and I do it very well".

I learned that there is a sense of freedom in entertaining one's animal self. Still there is a danger of losing one's God self. All of the holy text I've ever encountered agree that there is a God self state that all people are required to strive for. Yet in a world where God is a schizophrenic that walks the tops of barbed wired fences, occasionally jumping off of one side to swap small change for baby teeth and to hide colored eggs around your house or a drunken raging whirlwind, falling off and taking the anger and pain in to his bleeding naked feet or realization that falling doesn't hurt nearly as much as stopping out on your pay check or something in your day to day life, before realizing, "Hey, I'm God!. I better get back to keeping the universe in order. Now what channel was I watching? They're all pretty much the same". Still it is not as great as the freedom to say "I want", and not to care if or when that "I want" will be made tangible, only the joy of expressing it and knowing that until death or realization of that desire is met, I will still want it.

And only in giving up on the desire and the expression of that desire does the great enemy win.
  • Ahhhhhh,

This is why I gave up poetry. The best poets make language do things that make you want to open up a dictionary and look at these things called words in a new light. I lost my ability to do that with the breath taking, sudden rush of meaning escaping from one universe to the next universe which we mistakenly call a black hole, but is in fact a lung, breathing in(into the black hole) and out(expelled from a 'white hole' somewhere we cannot see.

Poetry is the opposite of prose--prose tells, poetry demonstrates.

    Bravo.

      Oh man
You've been having a great time haven't you?

I'm reading this one out loud later this week, when no one is home.
Thoughts of an Anarcho-Negro, Part I
Intelligent, well-written e-magazine with a subversive punk outlook, using humor and satire to poke holes in corporate America, office culture, globa…

Japanese girls in blackface would then be poetry

      Here profound
      Here absurd

Like the Chinese Guy, Peter, who taught African American literature at WSU, by showing excepts of "Barbed Wire" and advertisement clippings from "Black" magazines to classes with no "Black" African American students.

Without a well developed sense of humor, a lot of this stuff is difficult to process.

It's the Grand Prognosticator, when it was a kid, called it a Cootie Catcher.
Then someone just up and changed the name
As soon as I find out what a Cootie looks like
I'll tell you if I've ever caught one.

Then I'm gonna go find out what Squeegee really is.

& Then it's on to the Snuggy, because that thing scares me.

Like poets, priests, pimps and politicians scare others.
