Labor, Worker's Rights and Job Opportunities Summit
 
The Illinois Department of Labor in collaboration with the Illinois African American Family Commission, the Office of Congressman Danny K. Davis and many other government agencies and institutions are hosting a Labor, Workers Rights, and Job Opportunities Summit.  
 
The Labor Summit is scheduled for Saturday, January 18, 2014, kicking off at 9:00 a.m. , at Malcolm X College, 1900 W. Van Buren.  Free Parking and Shuttle buses are at the IMD parking lot at 13th & Leavitt.  
 
The event will feature workshops on job opportunities, workers rights, minority and women apprentice opportunities, and other activities.  
 
In addition, a summit town hall meeting on workers rights including a discussion on minimum wages is on the agenda.
 
The tentative agenda include:
 
9:00 a.m.  Registration
10:00 a.m.  Opening Session
