‘Rastafari Solidarity’ – Celebrating the 45th Anniversary Visit of Emperor
Haile Sellassie I & Remembering the Coral Gardens Massacre
The Rastafari Communities will be celebrating the 45th Anniversary Visit of Emperor Haile Sellassie I, and memorializing the 48th anniversary of the Coral Gardens Massacre on April 21st – 26th 2011. This year is very special as the two anniversaries will be happening the same time as Good ‘BAD’ Friday now dates on April 22nd 2011.
We are therefore honoring this occasion with a grand display of Rastafari Solidarity! We are planning the participation of all segments of the Rastafari Indigenous Culture: From Nyahbinghi Chanting to Reggae Music; Video / Film Shows to live Documentaries Presentations; Sales of Ital Cuisines, Arts & Crafts, Black Conscious Books, CD’s, DVD’s, African Wears, and other cultural items; and these we hope to accomplish at the National Heroes’ Park on Thursday April 21st. The day’s activities is proposed to begin as a re-enactment of the Visit by the Emperor and therfore a motorcade will leave from the Norman Manley Int. Airport at 10:00AM ending at the National Heroes’ Park.
On this massive occasion, we propose that the Nyahbinghi Ancients leave from Scott’s Pass Nyahbinghi Centre in Clarendon from 7:00AM to link with Ones in Spanish Town en-route to the Norman Manley Airport so as to commence our motorcade at 10:00AM!
We propose that the motorcade leave for the University of the West Indies to encircle Ring Road; then unto the Haile Sellassie I High School; stopping for another hour at the Mico Teachers College, before reaching our destination in the National Heroes’ Park to begin the festivities at 2:00PM!
The activities at the National Heroes’ Park should be concluded at 2:00AM Friday morning and from there we proposed to return to Scott’s Pass Nyahbinghi Centre to rest and be refreshed; and then leave from Scott’s Pass about 9:00AM to arrive at Jarrett Park, Montego Bay for the Coral Gardens Memorial on Friday afternoon, April 22nd 2011.
Thereafter, we propose to leave Jarrett Park unto the Nyahbinghi Pitt Four Centre Saturday morning, April 23rd 2011.
Finally, we proposed that the motorcade leave from the Nyahbinghi Centre at Pitt Four, Montego Bay en-route through Scott’s Pass unto Kingston departing at 9:00AM on Tuesday morning, April 26th 2011.
The 45th Anniversary of the visit of Emperor Haile Sellassie I to Jamaica from April 21st unto 24th is another MILESTONE in 'I n I 'story and therefore we appeal to ALL RASTAFARI SONS AND DAUGHTERS to come out in droves and revitalize the energy to finally fulfill the COMMANDMENT given by Our Divine Emperor - "Organize and Centralize, and come as one!"
Defend the call for REPARATIONS from Jamaica at Jarrett Park for the massive atrocities meted out to I n I Ancients who are still ALIVE to reverberate this attempt of GENOCIDE against Rastafari - I n I need a COMMISSION for this !!!
The United Nations World Council against Racism in Durban 2001 presents to I n I the grand opportunity to pursue I n I CAUSE! IT IS NOT TOO LATE!!!
