Betrayed Again By Congress

“We should never forget that everything Adolf Hitler did in Germany was 'legal' and everything the Hungarian freedom fighters did in Hungary was “illegal.” It was “illegal” to aid and comfort a Jew in Hitler’s Germany. Even so, I am sure that, had I lived in Germany at the time, I would have aided and comforted my Jewish brothers. If today I lived in a Communist country where certain principles dear to the Christian faith are suppressed, I would openly advocate disobeying that country’s anti-religious laws.” Martin Luther King, Jr. from Letter From A Birmingham Jail

A very astute Sistah sent out an E-mail to sound the alarm the US Congress just passed bill H.R. 347, or the “Federal Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act of 2011”. A newspaper article explained the bill this way. “This bill expands the existing laws supposedly enacted to protect certain buildings, grounds and personnel. “H.R. 347 expands an existing federal criminal statute – Title 18, Section 1752 of the United States Code, or the 'restricted buildings or grounds' law. The law was originally passed in 1971 and was last amended in 2006.Under existing law, the areas that qualify as 'restricted' are defined in extremely vague and broad terms. Restricted areas can include 'a building or grounds where the President or other person protected by the Secret Service is or will be temporarily visiting' and 'a building or grounds so restricted in conjunction with an event designated as a special event of national significance.' The Secret Service provides bodyguards not just to the US president, but to a broad layer of top figures in the political establishment, including presidential candidates and foreign dignitaries. What constitutes an event of 'national significance' is left to the discretion of the Department of Homeland Security. The occasion for virtually any large protest could be designated by the Department of Homeland Security as an event of 'national significance,' making any demonstrations in the vicinity illegal.” US Congress expands authoritarian anti-protest law http://wsws.org/articles/2012/mar2012/prot-m03.shtml

This bill is not about protecting buildings. The intent is to make it a criminal act to protest, demonstrate, show dissent and opposition to people or policies American citizens think are not in their best interests near and around certain buildings. Whatever happened to the right of peaceable assembly and protest? After witnessing the contrast between the way the state treated the Occupy Wall Street movement youngsters Bogarting them with riot geared SWOT teams, (our version of the Gestapo) versus how investment banker, former New Jersey Governor and US Senator Jon Corzine was allowed to go Scott free after his bankrupt company misappropriated a billion dollars of its clients money is a stark wake up call to those of you who think things are fine and dandy in this country. It's as if the elites are rubbing our faces in their excrement and daring us to say or do anything about it.

This new bill is merely putting in practice what the state did whenever ex-president George W Bu$h was away from the White House, they set up perimeters or “safe zones” (safe for who?) and “no protest zones” so the dignitaries and elites won't have to feel the pain, scorn and disillusionment of the 99%ers. More and more the US is imploding in on itself. The moral rot is metastasizing throughout the culture reaching every layer of society. But they say a fish rots from the head and the heads of this country are indeed rotten to the core. More Draconian laws are being passed to protect the wolves, jackals and predators in high places from we the people. The ruling elites are turning on the masses of whites who thought they enjoyed white skin privileged and a sense of ownership in the American dream. Not!

As usual the corporate mind control apparatus is ignoring these developments so the yahoos, rednecks and yuppies don't find out about it. “The passage of H.R. 347 has been the subject of a virtual blackout in the media. In light of the nature of the bill, which constitutes a significant attack on the First Amendment, this blackout cannot be innocent. The media silence represents a conscious effort to keep the American population in the dark as to the government’s efforts to eviscerate the Bill of Rights.
The timing of the bill is significant. H.R. 347 was reported to the Senate floor by the Senate Judiciary Committee on November 17, 2011, amidst a massive nationwide crackdown on the Occupy Wall Street protests – and just two days after hundreds of New York City police conducted the infamous military-style raid on the demonstrators’ encampment in Zucotti Park, driving out the protesters and erecting barricades.” http://wsws.org/articles/2012/mar2012/prot-m03.shtml The goal of the elites and their media is to treat us like mushrooms, keep us in the dark and feed us manure.

Class warfare in the US is escalating daily. People of color have always known the reality of state oppression and terrorism but now more and more white folks are finding out what it looks and feels like first hand. Moreover the elites are attempting to close the door on future mass protest movements like the Occupy Wall Street movement because they know conditions are going to get worse. How do they know? Because they are doing everything in their power to make them worse and get away with it! This new law provides for prison terms as well as fines for anyone “knowingly entering a restricted area.” So they pass a bill that will allow them to lock more people up, so what? America already leads the world in the incarceration of its own citizens and more prisons ,detention facilities and interment camps are on the way. Prison is big business and it is growing. The elites hope to send a message to the peons not to fight city hall.

But as Mahatma Ghandi, Martin Luther King Jr and the Occupy movement proved you cannot squash a movement whose time has come. The fascist psychopaths cannot lock us all up. They cannot build enough for profit jails to hold us all and they cannot kill us all with their drone or electromagnetic weapons technology. So don't worry about them and their treacherous flunkies in Congress, we are obligated to do right,be righteous and stand up for what is right. Our ancestors said they would rather die on their feet than live on their knees. If we do likewise we will make them proud and change the world.

  • Junious, Excellent article as always, thank you.  Just want to add, Dr King was living in a communist society, as we are today. The country was occupied in 1860's by military and remains occupied by military today. "Con"-gress cannot betray us , as they have not been re-conveined since 1867 when they adjourned sinie die. Congress are the trustess over the greatest bankruptcy of any nation in world history,

the receivers of the bankrupt STATE, "The District of Columbia,"  are the International Bankers.  FDR's New Deal sold out the peoples un-alienable rights given by their creator when he stole the peoples gold  (money of substance) we were never recognized as having any un- aleinable rights since we have been captive of this foreign people,  then ALL the people became subject to U.S. INC. and the perpetual "State of Emergency" which give the President of U.S. INC. dictatorial powers. This comment may appear to be off topic, I assure you it is not.
